Open Lab Night features STEM activities and demonstrations. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Parking is available in the Bridgewater State University Parking Garage. The BSU Observatory may be open until 9:00 PM (weather permitting).

SUMMARY:Mathworks: Are the Rainforests Disappearing
DESCRIPTION:Mathworks has partnered with Framingham State University for a STEM Week presentation. “The Amazon rainforest is the largest and most diverse rainforest in the world. However\, it has been receding due to rampant deforestation. In this session\, we will use MATLAB and the Image Processing Toolbox to analyze satellite images of the rainforest spanning several years and assess the extent to which the rainforest has “disappeared”.
